Welcome to EduQuest. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the EduQuest website and adaptive learning platform (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Priyanshu Gupta ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use EduQuest.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using any part of the EduQuest platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are under the age of 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

2. Description of Service

EduQuest is a free, AI-powered adaptive learning platform designed for students in Classes 6 through 12. The Service includes:

• Adaptive quiz generation across multiple subjects and difficulty levels
• A 100-level progressive learning system with performance tracking
• AI Tutor integration for real-time conceptual explanations
• Topic mastery dashboards and weak topic practice modes
• User account management with class, stream, and subject customization

The Service is provided free of charge and is sustained through advertisement revenue via Google AdSense.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To access the full features of EduQuest, you must create an account using Google Sign-In or email/password registration via Firebase Authentication. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during the registration process.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or use of your account.

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or used the Service in a manner that could harm other users or our platform.

4. User Conduct

When using EduQuest, you agree not to:

• Attempt to exploit, manipulate, or reverse-engineer the quiz generation algorithms or AI systems
• Use automated bots, scripts, or tools to interact with the platform or generate artificial quiz activity
• Upload, transmit, or distribute any malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users of the platform
• Use the AI Tutor feature for purposes unrelated to educational learning
• Attempt to access other users' accounts, data, or private information
• Circumvent or interfere with any security features of the Service

5. Advertisement Policy

EduQuest utilizes Google AdSense to display advertisements that help sustain our free educational platform. By using EduQuest, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

• Advertisements are displayed throughout the platform and may include banner ads, in-article ads, and display ads.
• Ad content is served by Google and third-party ad networks; we do not directly control the specific advertisements displayed.
• You must not use automated software, bots, or any other means to artificially generate clicks or impressions on advertisements.
• You must not encourage or incentivize others to click on advertisements.
• Fraudulent ad interaction may result in immediate account termination.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Content

All content on EduQuest — including but not limited to the website design, logos, brand name, quiz questions, AI-generated explanations, graphics, animations, and software code — is the intellectual property of EduQuest and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

6.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial educational purposes only. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or commercially exploit any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

6.3 User-Generated Content

If you submit any content through the platform (such as feedback or suggestions), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, modify, and incorporate such content to improve the Service.

7. Disclaimers

• We do not guarantee that quiz content is error-free, as questions may be generated using AI technology.
• AI Tutor explanations are provided for educational guidance and may not always be 100% accurate. Users should verify critical information with authoritative textbooks or teachers.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation of the platform.
• We are not responsible for any academic outcomes or exam results based on the use of our platform.
• EduQuest is a supplementary educational tool and is not a substitute for formal education, qualified teachers, or official curriculum materials.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, EduQuest and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data, academic performance, or educational progress
• Errors or inaccuracies in quiz content or AI explanations
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
• Service interruptions, downtime, or technical failures
• Any third-party content, including advertisements displayed through Google AdSense

In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, given the free nature of the Service, is zero).

9. Third-Party Services

EduQuest integrates with and relies upon the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase: For user authentication and account management
• Cloudflare Workers: For backend processing and data storage
• Google AdSense: For advertisement delivery
• Google Fonts: For typography rendering

These services are governed by their own respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of these third-party providers.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless EduQuest and its operator from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.

12. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify, update, or replace these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
